I’ve seen some pretty great werewolf movies that lose their greatness once you actually SEE the werewolf. Technological advancements have given us Angry Birds, Bjork apps, and a line of Priuses, but a non-dorkus malorkus werewolf transition remains a hairy brass ring to chase.
I’ve spent most of my art time these past few months drawing storyboards for a pretty great werewolf movie of sorts, and wondering with each scribble etched HOW THE HELL I WAS GOING TO BEAT WEREWOLVES AT THEIR OWN GAME: transforming.
Here is my attempt. When in doubt, cut away to a small detail you can manage. Screw full-facial morphing.
Last night I finally got to the really wolf-heavy sequences. Watching Fright Night for the second time in two days helped keep me in the spirit. That, chugging Kefir (raspberry!) and chanting NO SLEEP TIL WEREWOLVES.
This is one of my favorite projects I’ve ever worked on. Learn more at http://thestorystory.tumblr.com/
